Nathanaël Guigo (N. Guigo) received his Ph.D. in 2008 from the University of Nice Sophia Antipolis (France) in the field of furanic based polymers. He joined the Centre de Recherche sur les Macromolécules Végétales (Grenoble, France) as a post-doctoral fellow to work on cellulosic fibers in high-performance composites. In 2010, he became associate professor and in 2013, he obtained a secondment to Avantium (Amsterdam) to work on the poly(ethylene 2,5-furandicarboxylate). His scientific work includes 1 awarded patent; 50 articles in peer-reviewed journals with 5 editor invitation for covers; 3 book chapters; 7 peer-reviewed proceedings; 80 communications including 8 invited conferences, 10 invited seminars and 14 posters. Additionally, he has supervised 9 PhD students (8 have defended);3 POSTDOC; and over >10MSCstudents. Importantly, he has over >1900 citations; and an h-index of 25. He has been actively involved in several big EU projects relative to the valorization of biomass into new materials, namely HUGS (ITN, H2020-MSCA-ITN-2015-EID), BIOFUR (FP7-PEOPLE-2012-IAPP Marie Curie and ECOXY (BBI, H2020-BBI-JTI-2016).
