Dr. K. Eblagon (KE) got her PhD in Inorganic Chemistry from the University of Oxford, UK (2012). The cutting-edge results from her doctoral studies were published in 6 Q1 journals Q1 high-ranking journals in Chemical Engineering, including Applied Catalysis B (IF=22.1) and Energy and Environmental Science (top world best journal in Energy, IF=32.5, SCImago Journal Rank (SJR)=12.3). She has been invited to work in internationally well-recognized research centers, such as the Department of Chemistry of Fudan University in China and EMPA Swiss National Laboratories for Materials Science and Technology in Switzerland, which gave her multidisciplinary experience and collaborations. In 2011, she joined the LEPABE group at the University of Porto, Portugal, where she worked on a European project, BeingEnergy, focusing on integrating H2 production with a fuel cell system. In September 2013, she moved to LSRE-LCM, University of Porto, where she performed R&D activities on biomass valorization to chemicals and biofuels, and she has been developing this line of research to date. KE was awarded 2 highly competitive international grants from the Foundation for Science and Technology in Portugal (FCT). In 2015, she obtained a scholarship for her project focused on the sustainable production of fuels and chemicals from cellulose (SFRH/BPD/110474/2015) in the FCT Post-doctoral call (approval rate of 21%). In 2021, she won a Junior Researcher contract with her project concerning the conversion of sugarcane molasses to platform chemicals (2021.00535.CEECIND) in a very prestigious "Concurso Estímulo ao Emprego Científico Individual" (CEEC, approval rate of 14%). She has active collaborations with 9 international research groups. Her research is highly committed to knowledge transfer, as demonstrated by her continuous scientific collaboration with industrial partners, including RAR (sugar refinery, Porto) and Lankhorst Euronette (synthetic company, Maia). KE was the main supervisor of 6 MSc dissertations (all in collaboration with industry), 2 BSc final projects, and 2 PhD students. KE is a Guest Editor and a member of the Topical Advisory Panel in Catalysts (MDPI-2073-4344). In 2023, she was awarded the Best Paper of the Year award by the C Journal of Carbon Research (MDPI- 2311-5629-). KE's research profile includes a total of 52 indexed scientific publications, distributed as follows: 21 peer-reviewed papers (17 in Q1 journals, 20 as a first author, 17 as first and corresponding author), and 29 proceedings papers (20 with KE as a first and 19 as first and corresponding author) and a book chapter (KE as first author, Wiley, ISBN: 978-1-119-87052-4). She presented her work at 20 conferences.
