I hold a Pharmaceutical degree at the University of Santa Cruz do Sul - UNISC (2005). A PhD and a post doctoral degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, both of which attributed by the University of Eberhard Karls in Tübingen (Germany), department of Medicinal chemistry in 2010 and 2011, respectively. I also hold a post doctoral degree in Health Sciences by the Federal University of Mato Grosso (UFMT), Department of Pharmacology of the Faculty of Medicine (2012). I am currently an senior research scientist in University Hospital of Tuebingen (Germany), invited associated professor and researcher in the Division of Pharmaceutical and Medicinal Chemistry at the University of Tübingen in Germany. Also, I'am a invited teacher in the post graduation program in Biotechnology and post graduation program in Medical Sciences, both at the University of Vale do Taquari - UNIVATES. My scientific work comprises the fields of Pharmacy, focusing on Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Pharmacology of natural and synthetic products. My research is mainly focused on the development and validation of bioassays for the quantitative determination and identification of the biological activity of isolated compounds, medicinal plants extracts and small molecules with anti-inflammatory and antitumoral activity, structure-activity relation and production control of pharmaceuticals under the GMP norms. Nowadays, I assess the biotechnological and pharmaceutical potential of natural/derivated and synthetic products, aiming the identification and characterization of the cellular and molecular processes involved in the action mechanism for the development of novel pharmaceutical products. However, my main research target is a class of proteins, known as MAPKs (eg, p38, JNK, ERK), which are frequently deregulated in human diseases such as cancers and inflammatory diseases, and are promising targets in the development of targeted therapies. I am co-author of 62 publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals, 5 books, 3 book chapters, 3 full publications in international congresses, 1 expanded abstract and 99 abstracts in international congresses, and 74 oral communications in international congresses. Among these, 84 publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals, 7 book, 5 book chapter, 3 full publications in international congresses, 40 abstracts in international congresses, and 39 oral communications in international congresses, were produced in the last five years. I was awarded/distinguished 12 times individually or as team member. I am the author of a patent regarding the therapeutic use of Ceiba speciosa extracts. Since 2003, I have been involved as a researcher in 17 different research projects. To this date, I have supervised 3 PhD thesis, 23 master's dissertations, 15 graduation projects and 22 scientifical initiation projects. Currently, I am orienting and supervising 3 master's dissertations, 2 doctoral thesis and 2 scientifical initiation projects. I have an h-index of 17 and over 987 citations according to scopus.
