Ana Corte-Real holds a Ph.D. in Medical Sociology(2009) a Masters' degree in Dentistry(1993), and Legal Medicine and Forensic Sciences(2005) from the University of Coimbra, Portugal(UC). She holds an Executive Master in Health Management (Portuguese Catholic University,2015) and a postgraduation in Blockchain: Technology Disruption(Massachusetts Institute of Technology,2021). Guest Editor Special Issue - Blockchain in Health Systems - Digital Health - International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health-MDPI (2023). She has been a Coordinating member of the Health Management and Direction specialization course at UC. Director of the Forensic Dentistry Laboratory of UC. Assistant Professor w/ Habilitation at UC, focusing on Forensic Dentistry, Dental Anatomy, Quality in Health, Health Strategy, Legal Medicine and Forensic Sciences. Professor of Forensic Dentistry at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Lisbon, Portugal. Invited Professor at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Beira Interior, Covilhã Portugal. Member of the Executive Committee of the Expert Committee of the Portuguese National Dental Board. She is a dental expert in Human Identification(Portuguese DVI team) and Legal Medicine and Forensic Odontology at the Portuguese National Institute of Legal Medicine and Forensic Sciences. She is an expert on Corporal Damage and an expert in orofacial trauma. She has a private clinical practice in Dentistry, Oral trauma, and Disability evaluation. Past-member of the International Relations Office of the Faculty of Medicine(FMUC)(2013-2019) at UC. Scientific Coordinator of the Non-Governmental Organization-Association of Extra-Workers of the Uranium Mines(ATMU), Portugal. Her research activity focused on Identification, Patient Safety, and Medico-Legal Evaluation in Orofacial trauma. Presently focus on Migrant and Refugee Health issues, namely challenges and future directions in healthcare accessibility following the COVID-19 context, and disruptive technologies in healthcare as a speaker at the World Health Summit 2021 of the M8Alliance.
