In 2012 I finished my bachelor in Human Biology at Universidade de Évora, and in the same year I started my master degree in Pharmaceutical Biotechnology at Faculdade de Farmácia, Universidade de Coimbra. In 2013 I finished my master with the thesis entitled "Biomedical Applications using Ionic Liquids" with a final classification of 20/20. In 2015, I won a PhD scholarship from Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia and a position at the "MIT Portugal - Bioengineering Systems" doctoral program. Through a COST Action: "Exchange on Ionic Liquids" I made a Short-Term Scientific Mission at the University of Bremen, from December 2016 to March 2017, under the topic "Ecotoxicity of Fluorinated Ionic Liquids". Posteriorly, in 2018, I was awarded with a merit scholarship, related to the academic success in the Pharmaceutical Biotechnology master. From 2015 to 2019, I developed my PhD thesis entitled "Fluorinated Ionic Liquids for the Development of New Drug Delivery Systems" at the Alternative Fluids for Green Chemistry (AF4GC) Laboratory. I am a PhD researcher (junior investigator) since March 2019, and I have been working at AF4GC Laboratory in the project: "Fluorinated Ionic Liquids: New Engineering Solvents for Separation Processes". My scientific research originated 10 published papers, with an accumulated impact factor (IF) of 37,18. I am the first author of 8 of these papers, with 258 citations and a h-index of 8. These works are within several subjects of interest, such as: chemical engineering, materials sciences, pharmacology, toxicology, pharmaceutics and energy. 6 of these papers are ranked in the first 25% highest IF, Q1, whereas 4 of them are in the first 11.5%. I also have two more papers accepted for publication, one as the first author. Additionally, I am also the first author of a book chapter entitled "Fluorinated Ionic Liquids as Task-Specific Materials - An overview of current research". Since 2019, I have been invited to referee articles in "ATROA", "ChemistrySelect", "J. Chem. Eng. Data","Molecules", “Applied Sciences”, and “The Journal of Physical Chemistry” journals. In April 2021 I have been invited to be the guest editor of the special issue “Ionic Liquids as New Alternative Engineering Solvents” which will be published in the “ChemEngineering” Journal. My other academic contributions include the participation in national and international conferences. I have 16 papers in conference proceedings, 2 invited oral communications, 13 oral communications and 28 posters. In 2019, at the 17th European Symposium on Fluorine Chemistry, I received the Best Poster Award for my work entitled "Biocompatible Fluorinated Ionic Liquids as a Promising Tool for Green Pharmacy Development". In my curricular path, I can also underline my participation in 4 R&D projects as member of the team, related to the application of ionic liquids for pharmaceutical and industrial applications, and funded by public agencies. I have been also involved in the organizing committee of the “Workshop KET4F-Gas: Call To Action” and of the “Launch Event of the KET4F-Gas SUDOE project”. During these years I developed a solid and diversified research network with several national (iMed.ULisboa, CQE/IST-UL, CICECO-UA, IBET and ITQB NOVA) and international (University of Vigo, University of Bremen, TU Dresden, and QUILL Research Centre) groups. These collaborations fostered and boosted the application of ionic liquids in many fields and allow me to develop and improve skills in many subjects. Furthermore, I have been also involved in the training of 11 students: 1 student as principal advisor, 3 as co-supervisor; and 7 students and 3 MSc researchers as tutor.
