Carlos Miguel Marques do Rosário completed the PhD in Physical Engineering in October 2020 at the University of Aveiro, the same institution where he got a MSc degree in Physical Engineering in October 2014. During the PhD he was a visiting researcher at the RWTH Aachen University for a little more than 2 years. After a 2-year Postdoc at the University of Twente, Carlos is now a Research Fellow at the International Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory (INL) after a successful application to an ERA Fellowship (Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions). Carlos published 13 peer-review articles, including 4 as first author and 1 as last author. He has been involved in the teaching and supervision of students, having supervised 2 MSc dissertation and co-supervised other 3. He has received multiple awards and honors. Carlos works in the area of Condensed Matter Physics, with emphasis on Nano-technology and the Physics of Electronic Devices, especially for emerging memory and computing paradigms. Some of the topics of his research include: resistive switching, memristive devices, neuromorphic computing; electrical transport, topological insulators, spintronics and spin-orbit torques.
