I completed my Ph.D. in Psychology in 2020 at the University of Porto, Portugal. My thesis focused on the impact of mother-, father-, and teacher-child relationships on childhood social skills development. This research followed a longitudinal methodological design, investigating the links between the quality of early relationships and children's early development of social skills such as self-regulation, emotional regulation, and prosocial behavior. After completing my doctoral studies, I assumed a postdoctoral position at the Center for Psychology at the University of Porto (CPUP). In this role, I provided methodological and statistical support to various ongoing international and national research projects within the center. Some examples are the "ProW - Promoting Teachers Well-being through Positive Behavior Support in Early Childhood Education" (European Commission, 626146-EPP-1-2020-2-EL-EPPKA3-PI-POLICY), "CareMe: Efficacy of an attachment-based intervention in residential care" (Foundation for Science and Technology, PTDC/PSI-ESP/28653/2017), and "(Im)Balance (Foundation for Science and Technology, PTDC/MHC-CED/5218/2012)". I have been leading, since 2022, a longitudinal project funded by the Foundation for Science and Technology through the Scientific Employment Stimulus program. Titled "Shaping Citizenship for a Better World: The Role of Prosocial Development in Early Childhood (FCT, 2021.00706.CEECIND)", this project builds upon the research trajectory initiated during my Ph.D., explicitly emphasizing the intricate relationship between socio-emotional development and global citizenship skills in preschool-aged children. My research has resulted in significant contributions to various fields of Psychology, including developmental and educational psychology, clinical psychology, applied psychology, and social psychology. I have been sharing these findings at the most relevant international scientific events and published them in high-impact journals. Besides my research, I actively contribute to the training programs offered by the Faculty of Psychology and Education Sciences of the University of Porto. I teach graduate and post-graduate courses, focusing on R programming, statistics, data analysis, and open science best practices.
