I completed my PhD in Astrophysics (2006-2009) at Yerevan State University (YSU, Armenia). From 2009 to 2011, I lectured (Assistant Professor) at YSU and was a Research Associate at Byurakan Observatory (Armenia). In 2011, I moved to Portugal as an FCT Postdoctoral Fellow working at the Centro de Astrofísica da Universidade do Porto. From 2016 to 2022, I've been an Assistant Researcher at Instituto de Astrofísica e Ciências do Espaço (IA), and from 2020 to 2023 I've been an Invited Lecturer for the Astronomy doctoral program at the University of Porto. Currently, I am a Principal Researcher at IA. I was a Visiting Scientist at the Instituto de Astrofísica de Canarias (Spain) and Observatoire de la Côte d'Azur (France) in 2017 and 2018, respectively. Additionally, I have conducted 14 short research visits to 10 institutes in 8 countries during the last years. From 2019 to 2021, I was the head of the Stellar Astrophysics Group overseeing 21 researchers and 6 PhD students. My current research is mostly focused on understanding the chemical link between extrasolar planets and their host stars. My research interests also include Galactic archaeology and Supernovae host galaxies. I authored 240+ peer-reviewed articles in high-impact international journals (including 3 in Nature, 1 in Science, 2 in Nature Astronomy), in addition to 8 'white papers' and 36 conference proceedings. I'm the first author of 40 publications, 28 of which are peer-reviewed articles. Demonstrating the high impact of my research, my papers have already received over 11,700+ citations (H-index of 59), 1700+ of which are to the papers where I'm the lead author. I presented my scientific results in 70 talks in (inter)national conferences, workshops, and meetings. These included 21 invited talks, 15 invited research seminars, and 36 contributed talks. I also enjoy disseminating and communicating scientific results with the general public (through seminars, webinars, articles in popular magazines, and interviews with newspapers). I have several years of teaching experience at the BSc, MSc, and PhD levels. I supervise(d) 5 PhD students (4 ongoing), 8 MSc students (1 ongoing), , and 3 BSc students. Additionally, I was a supervisor of 15 research projects, from undergraduate to postdoctoral level. As further evidence of my international recognition as a leading researcher, I'm a frequent referee for nine different journals (~3 articles per year). I'm an Associate Editor of Frontiers in Astronomy and Space Sciences magazine. In the past years, I was invited to review projects for Czech Science Foundation and Dutch Research Council, and to evaluate observing proposals for the ESO. I was also a chair/member of 10+ evaluation panels (jury of BSc, MSc, and PhD theses, Doctoral Program) and chair/member of over 10 Selection Committees for PhD and Post-Doc fellowships. I'm successful in attracting research funds: PI of 2 competitive FCT funded project (EUR 80K, 2016-2019 and 50K 2023-2024) and Co-I of 8 more national and international projects, totaling over 1.7 MEUR. I actively participate in the organization of international conferences/workshops/meetings (2 as chair of SOC and LOC). I'm a PI/Co-I of 60+ approved observing proposals using state-of-the-art telescopes (JWST, HST, ESO, and OPTICON). Not only that, but I also have leadership positions and strong involvement in several international consortia. I lead 2 Work Packages (WP) for PLATO mission (ESA, 2026) and contribute to 3 WPs for ESPRSSO@VLT (ESO, 2018), 2 WPs for CHEOPS (European Space Agency - ESA, 2019), and 2 WPs for ARIEL (ESA, 2028). In addition, I'm a Science Team member of ANDES@ELT (ESO, 2030) and MSE@CFHT (2029), and a member of the NExSS Research Coordination Network. I'm a Management Committee Member for a COST Action. I have been awarded the Armenian Astronomical Society Annual Prize for Young Astronomers in 2008 and in 2012.
