I am a professor and principal investigator of the University of Vigo. My current research lines involve the evolutionary analysis, at the population and molecular levels, of pathogens, cancer and humans. I am interested in the design, development and implementation of evolutionary models and methods for the simulation and analysis of genetic data. Indeed, I am also interested in combining molecular evolution and population genetics with computational chemistry to improve the design of molecular therapies against pathogens (especially viruses and cancer tumor cells) accounting for evolutionary processes.
