Claudio Guarnaccia is associate professor of Physics at the Civil Engineering Department of University of Salerno. He took the M.Sc (2004) and PhD (2008) in Physics, at the Physics Department "E.R.Caianiello" of University of Salerno. He was Post Doc researcher both in the Physics Department and in the Industrial Engineering Department of University of Salerno. His research activity is focused on the application of Physics to Engineering and Biomedical problems. Main stream of research is Acoustics. He works with several national and international research institute, such as the University of Aveiro (Portugal), the IFSTTAR (France), the Institute of Acoustics and Sensors of the CNR (Italy), the “Institudo de Matematicas” of the “Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico”, etc.. He is member of several national and international organizations, such as Italian Acoustics Association (AIA), International Commission for Occupational Health (ICOH), World Scientific and Engineering Academy and Society (WSEAS). He is editor-in-chief of the “International Journal of Education and Information Technologies”. He is also associate editor and member of the editorial boards of "Transportation Research, part D" (Elsevier), "Applied Sciences" (MDPI), “WSEAS Transactions on Systems” and “International Journal of Mechanics”. In addition, he is referee for several international journals, such as “Applied Acoustics”, “Journal of Environmental Management”, “Sustainability”, “Energies”, etc.. He is author of more than 150 indexed papers in international journals and proceedings of international conferences with referee. He was invited in several conferences, also as “plenary lecturer”, to present the results of his research. Since 2005 he cooperates at the teaching activities and from 2007 he has been appointed teaching assistant in all the Physics courses, at the Engineering Faculty of Salerno University. In 2012 he started a teaching activity at the Engineering Faculty of Sannio University, in Benevento (Italy). From march 2013 to 2016 he was temporary Professor of Physics at the Civil Engineering Department of University of Salerno (Italy). Since 2016 he is in charge of the Physics courses in the Civil Engineering and Environmental Engineering programs.
