Debapriya Mondal. Completed the Doctor of Philosophy in PhD in 2010/02/01 by The University of Manchester Faculty of Science and Engineering. Is Associate Professor in University of Salford. Published 30 articles in journals. Participates and/or participated as Principal investigator in 2 project(s). Works in the area(s) of Medical and Health Sciences with emphasis on Health Sciences with emphasis on Epidemiology. Debapriya Mondal is Reader in Environmental Health and Programme leader of PGT Environment and Health programmes in the School of Environment and Life Sciences at the University of Salford (Manchester). For over a decade, she has been engaged with environmental public health research and certain outcomes had major societal impact. Mondal has published in eminent journals (Scopus h-index=16) including paradigm-challenging papers like the one highlighting the importance of rice as a major exposure route for arsenic contrary to the widely accepted paradigm that drinking water is the only major human exposure route. Currently, Mondal is leading two India-UK bilateral projects working on arsenic induced toxicity in rural India and supervising seven on-going PhD projects with students from India, Nigeria, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar apart from UK. She has established collaborations with institutes in Peru, Qatar, and India facilitating research projects and exchanges. Mondal is an active member of organisations like, UK & Ireland Exposure Science Group; and Bihar State Pollution Control board in India, which are specifically working on environmental pollution. She is editorial board member of Frontiers in Environmental Science; Journal of Water Pollution and currently the guest editor of a special issue "Arsenic Exposure in Environment and Human Health" in International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health.
