Mohammad J. Taherzadeh is full professor in Bioprocess technology since 2004 at University of Borås in Sweden and director of Research School of Resource Recovery. Prof. Taherzadeh has PhD in Bioscience from Sweden, and MSc and BSc in Chemical Engineering from Iran. He is developing processes to convert wastes and residuals to value added products with focus on pretreatment and fermentation. He has more than 360 publications in scientific peer-reviewed journals, 33 book chapters, 6 patents and 8 books. He has h-index 62 (Scopus) & 75 (Google Scholar) and i10-index 296, with more than 24000 citations. During these years he supervised 34 PhD students, and currently he supervised 15 PhD students. He is panel member of "Chemical engineering, biotechnology and environmental engineering" at Swedish Research Council 2010-2020 and he was Chairman for 2013-2015. He is reviewer of the applications for the research councils in EU, Sweden, Austria, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Cyprus, Denmark, Germany, Hong Kong, Iceland, Iran, Ireland, Israel, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Malaysia, Netherlands, Oman, Poland, Romania, Singapore, USA. He acted as examiner of PhD theses in Australia, Botswana, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, India, Ireland, Malaysia, Mauritius, South Africa, Sweden, Thailand. He is also editor-in-Chief of Bioengineered and Associate Editor of Bioresource Technology, Associate Editor of scientific journal ¿Bioresource Technology¿ (Elsevier) and guest editor and/or member of editorial board of several other journals. He participates in peer reviewing of manuscripts from +50 different scientific journals, and also books from Elsevier, Springer, and Taylor & Francis. During his research, he has been project leader of ca 60 granted projects research since 2001 from different resources in Sweden (Vetenskapsrådet, Energimyndigheten, Vinnova, Formas, SIDA, Tillväxtverket, VGR, Sparbanken, Private and state companies and foundations), European Union, and some other countries. In last 5 years he coordinated 19 scientific projects. He shared his knowledge with scientific community by ca 5-20 public and scientific presentations per year in his area of expertise at different conferences and workshops, in which most of them as invited or keynote speaker. Cofounder of the International network "Waste Recovery International Partnership" (2006-2018) between universities, municipalities and companies, acting in about 10 different countries. He has Research and Development collaborations with several companies in Sweden and abroad such as Lantmännen Energi, Agroetanol, Borås Energi & Miljö, FOV Fabrics AB, Scandir Chemicals AB, Cewatech AB, Lyckeby Starch, Stora Enso Nymölla Mill, Procon, etc. on ethanol, biogas, feed, food and biopolymers from wastes and residuals.
