Francisco Nicolau Loureiro de Amorim completed the PhD in Biodiversity, Genetic and Evolution in 2020/03 by University of Porto. He is a postdoc Researcher at BIOPOLIS - Research Network in Biodiversity and Evolutionary Biology, and participates and/or participated as Master Student Fellow in 1 project(s) and Researcher in 2 project(s). Published 18 articles in international peer-review journals with an accumulated impact factor of 70.94, 452 citations and an h-index of 11. Led one the chapter on the European free-tailed-bat for the upcoming Handbook of the Mammals of Europe (already accepted for publication by SpringerNature), co-authored the chapter on the European free-tailed-bat for the book Bat Calls of Britain and Europe, and was invited to lead the chapter on the same species for The 2nd European Mammal Atlas. Presented his work at international conferences including 6 talks, 2 posters and co-authored 7 other communications. He co-supervised 2 MSc thesis and 1 BSc student, and has 2 ongoing MSc supervisions. Francisco Completed 36 reviews for 20 different journals, including high-profile journals in ecology. Was the examiner of a MSc thesis on bats and is part of the Editorial Board for the Journal of Bat Research & Conservation and member of the COST Action CA18107 - Climate change and bats: from science to conservation, where he was appointed as Virtual Networking Strategy Manager. He is Scientific Advisor for Bats without Borders, bat specialist on the ongoing revision of the Portuguese Red Book of Portuguese Mammals and for the Portuguese mammal monitoring strategy.
