Since 2012, I am MSc in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Coimbra. In March 2019 I obtained a PhD degree in Radiation Biology and Biophysics, specialized in Applied Atomic and Molecular Physics by NOVA University of Lisbon. Part of my PhD studies were performed at CSIC, Madrid where I spent two years. Afterwards, in April 2019, I got a short-term (30 months) Assistant Researcher contract at the CEFITEC, NOVA University of Lisbon. Between September 2021 and October 2024, I have an employment contract with Faculty of Science and Technology, NOVA University of Lisbon as Invited Assistant Professor, teaching classical mechanics, thermodynamics, electromagnetism, among others. I was away from research activities and teaching on parental leave between January and September 2023. In October 2024 I got a six-year contract as Junior Researcher within the CEEC individual program at NOVA University of Lisbon. Since 2015 I have been involved in different experimental projects that allowed me to obtain deeper knowledge on the underlying molecular reactions occurring when different particles (atoms, ions, electrons, and photons) interact with molecules, namely by charge transfer, ionization processes and electron attachment processes leading to molecular dissociation. I have 35 publications listed in Scopus, with a total of 217 citations, and h-index factor of 10. I am co-author of a book chapter in Radiation in Bioanalysis: Spectroscopic Techniques and Theoretical Methods, Springer (2019) (ISBN 978-3-030-28247-9). I have presented several oral, poster communications and seminars at national and international conferences. I supervised two master's student, I mentored the research work of two PhD students, and supervised undergraduate students from different areas, namely biochemistry. I have also been involved in a close network of international collaboration with world-leading researchers from CSIC (Madrid, Spain), Federal University of Paraná (Curitiba, Brazil), Aarhus University (Aarhus, Denmark) and Paul Sabatier University (Toulouse, France). I have visited different international laboratories, namely, the ASTRID2 synchrotron facility in Aarhus, and participated in short-term scientific missions through COST Actions. As a project leader, I obtained funding from CALIPSO plus Horizon2020 programme to access the UV beamline at the ASTRID facility in 2020, 2021 and 2023. In 2024 I obtained funding as PI (~50k€) from The Foundation for Science and Technology through the programme "Exploratory Projects in All Scientific Domains 2023". In addition, I have been involved in activities to disseminate science, especially to university and high-school students, through different programs organized by FCT-UNL, namely Quantum Academy 2019, Expo FCT and open visits to the laboratory. I was also invited to give a seminar integrated in the Post-Graduation Program in Physics by UFPR in Brazil.
