MARIANA MARQUES SANTOS PINTALHÃO. Master Degree in Medicine in 2010 by the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto, Portugal. PhD in Cardiovascular Sciences by the Faculty of Medicine of Porto in 2024. PhD thesis entitled “New Insights into Circulating Biomarkers in Heart Failure: Unravelling the Role of Relaxin and Urocortin-2”. Completion of the "Clinical Scholars Research Training Program" (CSRT) from the Harvard Medical School - Portugal in 2013 and 2014, funded by the FCT. Internship in 2011 at Centro Hospitalar Universitário São João (CHUSJ), Porto, Portugal. Internal Medicine Residency between 2012 and 2018 at the Internal Medicine Department of CHUSJ. Hospital Assistant of Internal Medicine at CHUSJ since 2018, currently working at the Stroke Unit, Internal Medicine Department. Member of the Adult Clinical Team of the Inherited Metabolic Diseases Reference Centre of CHUSJ since 2017. Assistant Professor of Physiology of the Integrated Master in Medicine, Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto. Member of the investigation team of the Department of Surgery and Physiology of the Faculty of Medicine of Porto. Member of the Cardiovascular Research & Development Center (UnIC) since 2009. Experience in basic, translational and clinical research, mainly in the cardiovascular field, and specifically cardiac diastolic function, heart failure and stroke. Author or co-author of more than 50 scientific communications in national and international meetings and of 19 papers in ISI Web of Science© indexed publications. Awarded with five scientific prizes.
