Desprat Stéphanie completed a Doctorate in Oceanography and Paleoceanography in 2005 at the Université de Bordeaux and a Master degree (DEA) in Oceanic and Coastal Environments and Paleoenvironments in 2001 at the Université de Bordeaux. She is Lecturer at the École Pratique des Hautes Études. She published 40 peer-reviewed articles in journals and 3 in books. She co-organized 3 international congresses/workshops. She co-supervised 3 PhD theses and supervised 6 MSc dissertations. She has received 4 awards and/or honors. She participates and/or participated as Principal investigator in 2 projects, Research Fellow in 1 project(s) and Researcher in 5 project(s). She works in the area of Natural sciences with emphasis on paleoclimatology. She is a marine palynologist, expert on the analysis of pollen from the European and Indian flora to recontruct past vegetation and climate changes from deep-sea sediment cores. More specifically, she conducts research on orbital and millennial-scale climate changes in the mid- and low-latitudes with an emphasis on past interglacial climates of the last one million years and on the last glacial and deglaciation rapid climate changes.
