Maria Eugenia Ribeiro Pinto completed his PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences in 1996 from the University of Porto Faculty of Pharmacy (FFUP) and Degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences in 1984 from FFUP. He is an Associate Professor at the FFUP. Microbiology-Mycology. Antifungal activity: mechanisms of action and of resistance. Research of new chemical compounds of synthetic or natural origin with potential antifungal activity. Alternatives for topical treatment of superficial mycoses. Textiles with antimicrobial properties to be used in industry. Indoor air quality - airborne fungi - air quality and health. Mycotoxins associated with environment and food. Clinical Mycology. The selection of resistant species implicated in human infections, molecular identification of resistance mechanisms.
