Maria Ribeiro (MR) is PhD in Computer Science from the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto (FCUP), Portugal. Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Mathematics from FCUP. She is currently a Professor of the Information Management course at the Faculty of Information and Communication (FIC) at the Federal University of Goiás (UFG), Brazil. Researcher and collaborator at the Center for Advanced Computing Systems at the Institute of Systems and Computer Engineering, Technology and Science (CRACS-INESCTEC), in Portugal, where she has already served as a scholarship awarded by the Foundation for Science and Technology (under scholarship FCT SFRH/BD/138302/2018). Collaborator with the Biostatistics Intelligent Data Analysis (BioData) research group led by Prof. Doutor Cristina Costa-Santos at the Center for Research in Health Technologies and Services (CINTESIS) and with the Omniview-SisPorto research group at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto, Portugal, led by Prof. Doutor João Bernardes. From 2005 to 2010, MR was a mathematics teacher at the Portuguese Ministry of Education. From 2014 to 2016, MR was a Professor at the Federal University of Goiás (UFG/RC) in the Computer Science Department of the Biotechnology Institute (IBiotec), Brazil. From 2015 to 2018, MR was a Professor at the University FAC UNICAMPS, Goiás, Brazil. MR works in data analysis, big data, artificial intelligence, and machine learning applied in different areas. She has experience in pre-processing and analysis of physiological data and in exploring applications of complex systems analysis in decision-making.
