Tiago Conde hold's a BSc (2016) and MSc (2018) degrees in Biochemistry from the University of Aveiro, and a PhD (2024) in Biochemistry from the same institution. During his MSc he studied the anti-inflammatory potential of flavonoids in macrophages using lipidomics as a tool to monitor cell adaptation. Following his MSc he worked as a Research Fellow in the Project ALGAVALOR, a project dedicated to microalgae valorization. Afterwards Tiago was awarded a PhD fellowship by Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia and initiated his PhD on the bioprospection of anti-inflammatory lipids from microalgae. Currently, Tiago is workin as a Junior Researcher at the Lipidomics Laboratory (CESAM) at UA contracted by Agenda PRR Pacto da Bioeconomia Azul (Vertical Algas). He works in the fields of marine lipidomics, with a particular emphasis in microalgae lipids. His research involves mass spectrometry-based characterization of fatty acids (GC-MS) and lipids (LC-MS), evaluation of antioxidant and anti-inflammatory potential through in chemico (ABTS, DPPH, COX-2) and in vitro assays (Raw 264.7 and HaCat cell lines). Tiago also has experience in the fractionation of lipids and extraction with green and sustainable approaches. Tiago has authored 37 research papers (9 as first author), and co-authored 1 book chapter. He is a member of working groups from the COST Actions CA19105 - "EpiLipidNET", CA20106 - "Tomorrow’s ‘Wheat of the Future’ " and CA21108 - "NetSkinModels".
