Teresa Leão is a Medical Doctor, Public Health specialist. She has concluded her master in 2015 and her PhD in 2019, both in the National School of Public Health (Escola Nacional de Saúde Pública, Universidade Nova de Lisboa). She is Assistant Professor (Professora Auxiliar) in the Faculty of Medicine from the Porto University, and has been collaborating as an expert for the National Health Council. Besides her work as a Public Health Resident, she has worked as researcher in the SILNE-R project (Horizon 2020) and as a consultant in the World Health Organization. She has been doing research in public health, specially focusing in health inequalities and in healthy policies (specially tobacco and social policies), using quantitative and qualitative methods, including economic evaluation, and published several works in peer-reviewed journals. She coordinates the Health and Policies Lab from the ITR - Laboratory for Integrative and Translational Research in Population Health.
