I am a MSc Biologist by the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto (Master in Biodiversity, Genetics and Evolution, 2016), holding a graduation in Biology by the same faculty (2012). My main research interests encompass several topics in the field of evolutionary biology, such as the mechanisms of adaptation and speciation. Since the last year of my graduation, I have been working with the intertidal gastropod species Littorina fabalis and L. obtusata. My MSc thesis focused on characterizing these species genetic and morphological differentiation, assessing patterns of hybridization between them, in several Iberian shores. Importantly, under SYNTHESYS (Synthesis of systematic resources) and KVA (Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences) traveling grants, I learned from and worked abroad with some of the highest experts on these species. Following my MSc degree, I have been working as a Research Assistant in projects in line with my research interests on this system, that also allow me to use and develop my skills (mainly in molecular genetics and geometric-morphometrics). After a Research Assistant fellowship at CIBIO-InBIO (Research Center in Biodiversity and Genetic Resources) in collaboration with the University of Lund, I currently hold this position at CIIMAR (Interdisciplinary Centre of Marine and Environmental Research), in collaboration with the University of Sheffield. During my academic and professional path, I participated in several scientific events, workshops (as attendee or monitor), and conferences, including participating in the organization of 3 of them as a staff member. I have recently published the work from my MSc thesis as a first author, and have co-authored 5 additional relevant manuscripts (one under revision).
