After completing his university studies of Biology at the Dresden University of Technology, Germany, in 2005, Kristof Zarschler started his doctoral thesis at the Department of NanoBiotechnology of the University of Natural Resources and Applied Life Sciences Vienna, Austria. He received his PhD degree with distinction in 2009 and came back to the Dresden University of Technology, Germany, where he joined the group of Prof. Gerhard Rödel as research associate (2010). Since 2011, Kristof works as research associate at the Institute of Radiopharmaceutical Cancer Research of the Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden-Rossendorf, Germany. His research interests focus on the bio-nano-interactions of nanomaterials with biomolecules and cells. At the Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden-Rossendorf, Kristof is mainly involved in the development of precision nanomaterials as cancer targeted radiotheranostics. Furthermore, the application of tailored antibody fragments as diagnostic and therapeutic agents or as targeting moieties for nanoparticles represents one of the focal points of his scientific work.
