Dr. María José Trujillo-Rodríguez got her BS in Chemistry (Environmental chemistry) in 2012 in Universidad de La Laguna, Spain, obtaining the best academic record of her promotion, and her MSc at Research in Chemistry (Food and environmental analysis) in 2013 at the same university. She got her PhD in Chemistry (International Mention) in 2017 under the supervision of Dr. Verónica Pino and Dr. Ana M. Afonso (veropino.webs.ull.es/, Universidad de La Laguna), obtaining the Award of the Best PhD in Sciences in Universidad de La Laguna in the academic year 2016-2017. Regarding her research activity, Dr. Trujillo-Rodríguez has 6 years of research experience and she has published 18 research publications in journals of high impact in the Analytical Chemistry area, including Anal. Chem., Anal. Chim. Acta, Anal. Bioanal. Chem., J. Chromatogr. A, and Talanta, and 6 book chapters in important editorials, such as Wiley. These publications have generated a total of 407citations and a h-index of 10 (Google Scholar). Her research lines have been focused on the development of extraction and microextraction platforms using ionic liquids and derivatives (ionic liquid-based surfactants, polymeric ionic liquids, magnetic ionic liquids, and hybrid materials containing ionic liquids). Apart of her expertise regarding the ionic liquid and sample preparation fields, Dr. Trujillo-Rodríguez has extensively experience in the monitorization of organic pollutants, metal ions, and nutritional value compounds in environmental and food samples, and in the use of chromatographic techniques (both gas chromatography and liquid chromatography), mass spectrometry and atomic absorption spectroscopy. During her pre-doctoral period, Dr. Trujillo-Rodríguez conducted a research stay in Iowa State University (anderson.chem.iastate.edu/, Iowa, USA) for 3.5 months. She has also collaborated as researcher in 5 different projects (references CHE-1709372, ProID20100241, MAT 2013-43101-R, SPDs-Agua05 and MAT2014-57465). In addition, she got a predoctoral contract of the Agencia Canaria de Investigación, Innovación y Sociedad de la Información during 2016-2017, a research fellowship of the Fundación CajaCanarias in 2014, and a collaboration grant of the Ministry of Economy and Science of the Spanish Government in 2011. She also worked as technician in the Food Analysis Service of the Servicio General de Apoyo a la Investigación (SEGAI) of Universidad de La Laguna in 2015. Dr. Trujillo-Rodríguez is currently working as postdoctoral research associate in Dr. Jared L. Anderson’s research group at Iowa State University (USA), position got on August 2017. Dr. Trujillo-Rodríguez has presented a total of 16 communications in international conferences, 2 communications in seminars, and 14 communications in national conferences. During the development of her professional activities, she has interacted with 40 collaborators and/or co-authorship of scientific papers. She has also collaborated in the organization of the MSCA 2016 conference, and she acted as chair in the ExTech 2018. She has reviewed of up to 90 publications in Analytical Chemistry journals and related areas. In addition, she got the first award in the SPME user club (Sigma-Aldrich, S.A.) in 2014, and she was qualified as Associate Professor by the National Agency for Quality Assessment and Accreditation (ANECA) of Spain in 2018.
