Lino Marques is Associate Professor at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Coimbra and Senior Researcher at Institute for Systems and Robotics (ISR-UC), where he heads the Field Robotics group. His main research interests focus on mobile robot olfaction, multi-robot systems, sensor data fusion, robotics for hazardous environments and field and service robotics. He has a special interest in the development and deployment of teams of autonomous mobile robots to carry out cooperative mapping and monitoring over wide areas, including pollutants monitoring and environmental monitoring in maritime and coastal areas. In the past years he has been involved in several national (FCT and ADI) and European research projects, involving cooperative robots on the field, including FP6-GUARDIANS and FP7-TIRAMISU. He has edited special issues in his research topics in several robotics journals and is currently Editor-in-Chief for "Mobile Robots and Multi-Robot Systems¿ in International Journal of Advanced Robotic Systems and Editor to Frontiers in Robotics and AI. He has supervised 8 PhD students, more than 60 MSc students, and published 16 book chapters, more than 40 journal articles and 150 conference papers, (h-index 33, google scholar).
