I am a PhD student working at the University of Koblenz-Landau (Germany) and the German Federal Institute of Hydrology (BfG; Koblenz, Germany). Currently, I am investigating plastic pollution in aquatic ecosystems and the effects of microplastics on aquatic invertebrates. For polymer type identification I use Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy. Before that, I studied predator nonconsumptive effects on blue mussel recruitment on the Atlantic coast of Nova Scotia, Canada.
