Bárbara Perry Gouveia is Assistant Professor in the Manufacturing and Industrial Management Academic Unit of the Mechanical Engineering Department at Instituto Superior Técnico, Universidade de Lisboa. She is researcher of IDMEC (Institute of Mechanical Engineering), LAETA (Associated Laboratory for Energy, Transports and Aeronautics). Bárbara Gouveia had the Diploma of Mechanical Engineering in 1993 from the Instituto Superior Técnico (IST), MSc degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1995 and PhD in Mechanical Engineering, in 2003, from the Instituto Superior Técnico (IST). My PhD was developed in collaboration with the Danish Technical University (DTU) in Copenhagen. Her teaching and research activities are developed the field of Manufacturing Technologies since 1995. She has been the responsible professor of several courses, in her field of expertise, in different bachelor and master of science programs of Instituto Superior Técnico, and have supervised many postgraduate theses. Bárbara Gouveia is co-author of one book on Manufacturing Technologies and several scientific articles published in international journals and conferences in the field of manufacturing and numerical simulation. She has participated and coordinated some European and National Projects. Her activity also includes coordination in technical consultation and industry support works.
