Inês Gonçalves. Completed the PhD in Engenharia Biomédica in 2009/06/26 by Universidade do Porto-Faculdade de Engenharia and bachelor in Microbiologia in 2003 by Universidade Católica Portuguesa-Escola Superior de Biotecnologia. Is Principal Investigator in Instituto Nacional de Engenharia Biomédica, Co-founder of "GO Antimicrobial Technologies" Startup and Group Leader of the Advanced Graphene Biomaterials in Universidade do Porto- Instituto de Investigação e Inovação em Saúde. Published 46 articles in journals. Has 4 chapters of books. Has 6 patents registered (1 granted). Organized 26 events. Supervised 6 PhD (1 ongoing) and 20 MSc thesis (2 ongoing). Her work has received more than 30 awards and/or honors. Participates and/or participated in more than 20 national and international projects, 13 of which as Principal investigator. She focuses on the development of graphene biomaterials and medical devices for antimicrobial and cardiovascular applications, ranging from fundamental science to translational applications.
