Carlos M. Costa received the Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Minho in 2014. Currently, he is Assistant Researcher at the Center of Physics of the University of Minho and Porto of the same University. His work is mainly focused on the development of materials for energy storage applications, including polymer based separator membranes, anode and cathode materials. Applications include lithium-ion batteries and printed batteries, among others. Further, he also works on advanced hybrid materials for sensing applications, in the scope of the digital and sustainability transitions, as well as on the in-depth understanding of the electrical response of materials, among others. He has strong international collaborations with Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology (UNIST), South Korea; CIC Energigune and BCMaterials, Spain; Indian Institute of Technology Jodhpur (IITJ); University of Aveiro, among several other leading institutions worldwide. Further, Carlos Costa has international experience by research stays in “La Sapienza” University of Rome, UNIST, IITJ and BCMaterials. During the scientific path, he has published over 240 papers in high ranked leading journals (134 in the last 5 years), including Chemical Reviews, Advanced Materials, Advanced Functional Materials, Advanced Energy Materials, Nature Protocols, Energy Storage Materials and ACS Applied Materials and Interfaces, with a h-index of 47 and 7880 citations. Further, he has one patent application and more than 30 oral presentation and 30 posters have been presented in international and national conferences showing the excellence and relevance of his works. It is to highlight that over 20 papers have more than 100 citations (Google scholar). Further, Carlos Costa has supervised 9 Master's dissertations and currently supervises 4 PhD thesis.
