My name is Auguste Fernandes, I am a 49 year old researcher. I graduated in Inorganic Chemistry from Université Paul Sabatier in Toulouse, France, in 1999. I earned my PhD in Materials Science and Engineering from the CEMES Laboratory in 2002, also in Toulouse. Following my PhD, I joined Professor Filipa Ribeiro’s Zeolite group at Instituto Superior Técnico (IST) in Lisbon as a post-doctoral fellow, focusing on the synthesis of new microporous aluminophosphates (AlPOs). From 2008 to 2012, I held a researcher position at the IBB Research Institute (IST) under the “programa Ciência 2007,” where I continued my work on AlPOs and developed advanced spectroscopic methods to better understand their structure-property relationships. Between 2013 and 2018, I undertook another post-doctoral fellowship at the Centro de Química Estrutural (CQE) Research Unit at IST, working on the design of new hierarchical materials using unconventional synthesis methods. Since 2018, I have been a researcher at the same unit under the DL/57 law. My research interests include the study of porous solids, the development of new and greener synthesis approaches (such as microwave-assisted synthesis), and the characterization of these materials to understand their structure, surface properties, and catalytic behavior, particularly in the context of energy and sustainable catalysis. I have co-authored over 115 scientific papers and has an H-Index of 33.
