SCIENTIFIC INTERESTS Polymers and functional nanomaterials, in special those with interaction with light: Emulsion and controlled radical polymerization; Stimuli responsive (smart) polymers; Nanostructured materials (metal, semiconductor, silica and hybrid). Development of light emitting materials for imaging and diagnostics, multifunctional nanosystems for controlled delivery/capture, optical sensors, high performance polymer coatings, structural color materials, etc. TRACK RECORD Published >130 papers in international journals (web of science), with > 2800 citations and h-index 32. Published 5 book chapters, >270 communications in proceedings of scientific meetings, presented >75 invited orals and filled 26 patents (18 of which international). PROJECTS Participated in 30 financed research projects, of which 9 as Principal Investigator, 8 as Principal Investigator of IST team and 6 as Task Leader. Total funding of 18.6 M€ (ca. 80% foreign investment). SUPERVISION Supervised 2 contract researchers, 12 postdocs researchers, 22 PhD students (9 finished, 5 ongoing and 8 short PhD stays), >35 MSc students, and >25 students is research projects.
