Paul M. D'Agostino is a molecular microbiologist with of focus on natural product biosynthesis, genome mining and biochemistry. He completed his PhD 2014 at the Western Sydney University followed by a Postdoctoral position at the University of New South Wales (Australia) and the Technische Universität München via a competitive Technische Universität München Foundation Fellowship and a prestigious Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions Individual Fellowship. Paul M. D'Agostino has an excellent track record for the stage of his career including 21 journal publications (15 first authorship, 785 citations, H-index = 11, i10-index = 13), 1 manuscript under revision in a very high ranking journal, 2 book chapters and 2 manuscripts currently in preparation. Paul M. D'Agostino has also presented at many national and international conferences including 15 oral presentations (2 invited, 1 keynote) and 23 posters. He has attended a variety of workshops and has managed to obtain competitive funding including several awards and research grants. Paul M. D'Agostino has also been involved in student supervision of PhD, Masters and Bachelor level including research internships, practical courses and lectures. Paul M. D'Agostino is currently located at the Technische Universität Dresden and the Helmholtz Institute of Pharmaceutical Research Saarland (HIPS) with a focus on natural product discovery via genome mining, direct pathway cloning and heterologous expression.
