I finished my degree in Geology at the University of Salamanca in July 2005. Between 2006 and 2009 I specialized in the field of hydrogeology training with the International Course on Groundwater Hydrology (CIHS) given by the Universitat Politécnica de Catalunya. I also worked for 2 years in a company of the sector. In 2009 I completed the Master in Geophysics at the University of Barcelona (UB), where I specialized in electrical and electromagnetic methods motivated by their special utility in hydrogeological studies. Thanks to a research staff training grant from the Geological and Mining Institute of Spain (IGME) I completed my PhD in Earth Sciences in May 2014, with the defense of the thesis entitled: "Application of the magnetotelluric method to the characterization of reservoirs: Anticline of El Hito (Basin) and Geothermal System of Tenerife". During this period of time I was able to work with different types of electrical and electromagnetic geophysical data and methods, by participating in magnetotelluric (MT), electrical tomography (ERT), TDEM and controlled source MT (CSMT) data acquisition campaigns. After finishing my doctoral thesis at the UB I made a Post-Doc stay of 3.5 years (2014-2018) at the Center for Exploration Targeting (CET) and the University of Western Australia (UWA), in the city of Perth (Australia), which is one of the world reference centers for mineral exploration. During this period I was hired by this university and I had the opportunity to work with leading professionals in the field of mineral exploration. This allowed me to participate in field campaigns of installation and maintenance of seismic stations and to get in touch with other geophysical methods. I worked with gravimetric and magnetic data (both at the level of interpretation and performance of direct two-dimensional models and three-dimensional inversion models), focused on the objective of integrating the information provided by these methods with the 3-D MT models that I was carrying out. At the end of 2018 I returned to Spain and in January 2019 I rejoined the UB with a contract as a collaborating researcher, carrying out different tasks, among which I would highlight: (1) the design, implementation, data processing and interpretation of results of a volcano monitoring experiment using MT in the Canary Islands, (2) design, performance and data analysis of field campaigns for the acquisition of long-period MT data throughout the national territory or (3) the acquisition of electrical downhole tomography (ERT) data. In addition, I am currently a Lecturer at the UB, teaching at Master and degrees levels. I am still actively involved and participating in small projects as an Adjunct Research Fellow at UWA, which gives me access to some of their resources and facilitates collaboration between working groups. Within the field of geophysics my scientific career has been mainly focused on the development and application of the MT method for the characterization of deep reservoirs and geothermal systems, as well as mineral systems. Even so, I have always tried to look for new tools that allow me to better understand the geology and geophysical responses of the areas where I work, or to extract as much information as possible from the available data. This has led me to try to expand my training and knowledge beyond the geophysical method in which I specialized. I have participated in different national and international competitive projects and in research contracts with companies and/or public administrations (knowledge transfer). The results of this research have resulted in publications in SCI journals, most of which have been published in first quartile journals. I am an active member of the international scientific community, participating regularly in international congresses and acting as a reviewer for several first level journals in the field of geophysics.
