Master’s degree on Pharmaceutical Sciences with specialization on toxicology research. My research interests have always been based on the toxicology of mercury. I started by studying the exposure of humans to this neurotoxic pollutant. I've also worked on tracking the source of mercury pollution in lakes. More recently, I studied the interaction of mercurials with microglia cells. Laboratory skills: - Analytical methods for Hg determination (CV-AFS, AAS, CVG-MC-ICP-MS, GC-ICP-MS); - Cell culture; - Cell viability assays; - Biomolecular techniques (Protein determination, Western blot, protein activity, protein expression); - Scientific writing (papers, reports, thesis); - Experience on scientific events organization, achieved at LisbonPH.
