Marta DA SILVA SABINO LOPES [F] (PhD) é lider e investigadora principal do Programa de Culturas Arvenses no Institut de Recerca i Tecnologies Alimentaries -IRTA em Lerida, Espanha desde 2018. A investigadora é doutorada pela Universidade de Barcelona em Biologia Vegetal e possui experiencia em melhoramento e genética de plantas por métodos clássicos, ferramentas fisiológicas e por estratégias de seleção genómica. Participou no desenvolvimento de duas variedades de trigo e tem duas variedades adicionais em fase de registo. Supervisiona mais de 30 pessoas em três estações experimentais com um programa nacional de melhoramento de trigo, plataformas a largo-prazo para fenotipagem de culturas em regadio, sequeiro, temperaturas elevadas e fertilização orgânica com um orçamento anual de 1.5 milhões de Euros. O programa conta com várias ações colaborativas com o Ministério da Agricultura, empresas privadas, e projetos competitivos ao nível nacional e internacional. Tem mais de cinco projetos como investigadora principal e participa em mais de 20 atividades e contratos anuais. Anteriormente trabalhou dez anos no CIMMYT (International Center for Maize and Wheat Improvement) começando como investigadora pós-doc e continuando a carreira como investigador associado, investigador e investigador sénior em Fisiologia de Trigo aplicada ao melhoramento. Desenvolveu metodologías que facilitam a seleçao de variedades melhoradas. Tem 43 publicações em revistas internacionais de arbitragem cientifica e índice h=27 (Google Scholar), h=23 (Scopus), h=22 (Publons).
