Carlos Rompante Cunha holds a PhD in Computer Science. He is currently Vice-Dean of the School of Communication, Administration and Tourism at the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança, and professor in the Informatics and Mathematics Department. He is an integrated member of the Research Centre in Digitalization and Intelligent Robotics (CeDRI). He has been a member of several scientific committees of conferences and editorial board member of journals. He has published +115 papers in indexed journals, proceedings and book chapters. His main research interest is ICT applied to tourism namely IoT, Ubiquitous Computing, Machine Learning and Extended Reality. He is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Informatics and Mathematics, EsACT-IPB. He was researchmember for 4 research projects. For several years, he was director of the Informatics and Communications BSc, and Coordinator of the Department of Informatics and Mathematics, EsACT-IPB. He was also coordinator of the EsACT-IPB Computer Resources Center. In 2022, he was a member of the panel of experts evaluating candidates for 10 doctoral research grants, funded by the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) under the Collaboration Protocol for Financing of the Multiannual Plan for Research Grants for Doctoral Students, celebrated between the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) and the Côa Parque Foundation. Also, in 2023, he was member of the Expert Panel, as evaluator, in the “2023 Doctoral Scholarship Competition – Specific Application Line in a Non-Academic Environment”, in the “Social Sciences and Humanities” evaluation panel, subarea of ¿¿IT applied to Tourism and Heritage.
