I have a Master's in Management of Natural Resources and a Ph.D. in Forest Engineering and Natural Resources from the School of Agriculture, University of Lisbon. I have participated in several national and international research projects. My research focused on grassland diversity, understory diversity in eucalyptus plantations, restoration of oak woodlands, and ecosystem responses to drought. My Ph.D. focused on the effects of nutrient addition and drought on the functional trait diversity and functioning of Mediterranean grasslands. I am interested in trait-based ecology to develop ecological indicators of the impact of global change drivers such as climate change and N deposition on ecosystem functioning and service delivery. I have vast experience in fieldwork, including physiological and ecological measurements, experimental set-up and maintenance, and data analysis. I am, currently, a R&D consultant for the Centro de Competência do Sobreiro e da Cortiça e Centro de Competências do Pinheiro-Manso e Pinhão. My work focuses on research (e.g.: cork oak vitality loss and stone pine lack of production), dissemination, and knowledge transfer to stakeholders.
