on August 28-30, 2024 with the support of the Italian Statistical Society and the Classification and Data Analysis Group (CLADAG).
The workshop provides a focus on the state-of-the-art research in the field of statistical models and learning techniques
in different areas of clustering and classification.
Scientific discussions and debates among young and senior researchers are strongly encouraged.

| 2024/08/28 - 2024/08/28 | A satellite event has been organized about contrastive learning. Contrastive or self-supervised learning is an intuitive and
computationally feasible alternative to likelihood-based learning that is used in a broad range of domains, including natural
language processing, image modeling and representation learning. Both methodological and applied topics will be presented.
The tutorial is scheduled on 28 August 2024, h. 8.30-13.00.
The tutorial took place in collaboration with the Future Artificial Intelligence Research (FAIR) Foundation.

| 2022/03/14 - 2022/03/14 | This lecture is an attempt to illustrate the beauty and unity of mathematics. The pretext is the (apparent) conflict between
randomness and order observable in the distribution of prime numbers, from the intuitions of Gauss to the symmetry of the
zeta function discovered by Riemann. The central theme is the role of Fourier analysis in our understanding of the mathematical
and physical world, from Riemann's formulas to, time permitting, the explanation of the gamma factor according to Tate's thesis.

face in preparing for the Infarmed meetings since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, presented by Milton Severo from

is required for decision-making. This need is often not compatible with obtaining good epidemiological and statistical indicators.

who is believed to have designed it in the final phase of his life. It impresses with the smallness of its space combined

Fathers of Barga, also conceals a complex and invisible mathematical work, the significance of which is timely to decipher.

| 2019/04/11 - 2019/04/12 | Q DAYS was a Quantum Computing workshop, whose main goal was to introduce everyone interested in quantum computing, with the
majority of the program consisting of tutorial lectures. It also included a hands-on session on IBM's Quantum Experience.
The program was rounded off with two guest lectures and two sessions led by postgraduate students. Q DAYS was a QuantaLab
event, organized and supported by CMAT, with additional support from HASLab INESC TEC.

Center of the University of Minho, embarked on organizing PI DAY, which took place on March 14, 2019, at the Gualtar Campus
of the University of Minho, in Braga. Over the days of March 7, 8, 11, 12, 13, and 14, a level 3 Menger Sponge was assembled
using origami, utilizing only cardboard that is waste from doctoral thesis covers.
