Leonor Bettencourt Rodrigues. Completed an FCT funded PhD degree in Social, Environmental and Community Psychology 2013, in ISCTE/IUL, and graduated in Social Psychology in 2004, in ISCTE/IUL. For more than 15 years, she has been involved in research projects that generically address social policy and intervention towards vulnerable groups. She has participated in international action-research studies (CIS/ISCTE-IUL) with the two biggest Portuguese residential care state institutions as partners (Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Lisboa e Casa Pia de Lisboa). Between 2013 and 2017, she was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in several research projects in ICS-ULisboa on the topic of social policies related to children, elderly people, families and parenthood, funded by Calouste Gulbenkian/UNICEF Foundation, European Commission, EEA Grants or private enterprises (two still ongoing as a member of the research team). Between 2017 and 2019, she wan a competitive FCT post-doctoral research fellow and in her project she integrated sociological and social policy perspectives and methodologies to study the complexity and ambivalence that emerges from the cognitive, emotional, normative and value-laden factors involved in the decision making about out-of-home placement for at-risk children. Since 2019, she is part of the Collaborative Laboratory Against Poverty and Social Exclusion Association - ProChild CoLAB, with a coordinator role on the Protection Axis team, where several research project within child protection domain are being undertaken in partnership with a key national stakeholder, Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Lisboa. These research projects have the common purpose of informing public policies through the development and/or validation of intervention models in the field of the promotion and protection of children rights. One of those projects entails the development, implementation, and validation of the Integrated Model of Family Foster Care (MIAF). Published 3 articles in journals. Participated as Pos-doctoral Fellow in 4 project(s), Research Fellow in 2 project(s), Science and Technology Management Fellow in 1 project(s) and participates as a member of the research team in 2 on-going project(s). She has been undertaking several outreach activities with the National Commission for Child Protection (CNPDPCJ), and she is a member of the International Society for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect and of its 'Child Maltreatment Data Collection' working group. She was recently appointed national delegate and member of the management committee of the COST Action Euro-CAN - Multi-Response Sectorals to Child Abuse and Neglect in Europe: Incidence and Trends (CA19106), which aims to create and boost international networks, interconnect experts and stakeholders in order to promote the development of a rigorous, consistent and comparable methodology for monitoring mistreatment data, namely administrative data, in European countries. In CA19106 she also has the role of coordinating the working group on Definition and operationalisation of child maltreatment (consensus process of shared definitions).
