Irad Malkin is an esteemed figure in the field of Classical Studies, specialising in Ancient Greek History, Religion, Culture, and Society. His impressive body of work includes six authored books and eight as coordinator, published by prestigious presses, namely Oxford University Press, Brill, University of California Press, Les Belles Lettres-Paris, and Routledge. While predominantly in English, some of his works have already been translated into French and Italian. Since attaining full professorship in 1996, Malkin has contributed over 60 articles to high-impact journals across Europe and the USA, including Athenaeum, Revue de l'histoire des religions, Classical Quarterly, Dialogues d'histoire ancienne, Classical Antiquity, American Journal of Archaeology, Ancient West & East, Journal of Hellenic Studies, and Classical Philology. He is a Fellow of several Oxford University Colleges and has supervised 13 doctoral theses, both domestically and at prestigious institutions abroad such as Johns Hopkins University, Potsdam University, Washington University, Collège de France, and École Pratique des Hautes Études. Currently, he serves as an external doctoral supervisor in the Department of Classics at the University of Oxford. Among his numerous invitations and accolades awarded by foreign institutions, Malkin was honoured with the Nellie Wallace Prize, a prestigious recognition bestowed every six years. Notably, in Malkin's case, he made history as the first recipient democratically elected by secret ballot by the entire teaching staff of the Classics Department at Oxford University. He has also been awarded the Israel History Prize. As a Principal Investigator, Malkin has successfully secured projects funded by the Israel Science Foundation, received the Gerda Henkel Fellowship, and obtained grants from the National Endowment for the Humanities, USA.
