Ana Grade completed her MSc degree in Management and Conservation of Natural Resources in 2020/03 from University of Lisbon and University of Évora. Her MSc thesis was carried out within the scope of the CRASSOSADO project, which main objective was to update information about the Portuguese oyster in sado estuary (Portugal), identify and study the most important aspects for conservation and sustainable exploitation of oysters in this estuary. She holds a degree in Marine Biology and Biotechnology with specialization in Aquaculture and Fisheries, since 2008, from Polytechnic of Leiria, School of Tourism and Maritime Technology. Currently she is Senior Technician at Aquaculture, Valorisation and Bioprospecting Division of the Portuguese Institute for Sea and Atmosphere. Since 2010 she has participated as a team member in several projects related mainly with aquaculture resources. Her work experience is foccused in Aquaculture, pathology (mainly bivalve molluscs), parasitology, ecology. She has experience in several techniques, for diagnosing diseases in diferent marine animals, such as histology, citology and molecular biology. Her research interests and skills lie on natural sciences, especially in supporting the aquaculture sector in several aspects, its management and development with a view to its sustainability; identifying and studying diseases in aquaculture and continue to invest in health surveillance in aquaculture.
