Zihan Zhao is a social-cultural anthropologist specializing in China. She completed her undergraduate studies in Chinese language and Literature at Sichuan University(SCU), then obtained a master’s degree in Chinese Language & Culture from the National University of Singapore(NUS). Currently, she is a junior researcher at CIAS – Research Centre for Anthropology and Health, University of Coimbra(UC), and a research assistant at the Sci-Tech Asia international network. She is interested in questions of kinship and family in contemporary China, with a particular focus on elderly care in rural areas.
