Graduated in Biotechnology from the Polytechnic Institute of Coimbra - School of Agriculture in Coimbra (2017). Participated in the Erasmus+ program of the European Union at the Faculties of Agricultural Sciences and Business and Administration at Mendelova University in Brno, also completing the Transfer and Insemination Course (Level 1) at Mendelova University/Brno at the Faculty of AgriSciences (2016). Completed a master's degree in Biomedical Research, specializing in Oncobiology, in 2019 from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Coimbra, resulting in a final dissertation entitled "Xenotransplantation of bovine ovarian tissue as a model for testing new drugs and examining angiogenesis, premature follicle depletion, and dynamics." Currently a PhD student at CBA-UAc, with the theme "Characterization of the gastrointestinal microbiome and evaluation of methane emissions from Catrina cows (primitive population) and the Holstein breed as a contribution to the sustainability of farms on Terceira Island." Her main research areas include molecular biology, microbiome analysis, molecular characterization of genetic resources, cryopreservation, and animal tissue culture. Returning to her roots, she also became a member of the first spin-off of the University of the Azores and took on the role of technical secretary of the indigenous Catrina cattle breed.
