Agricultural engineer with a Master's degree in Biological Sciences, specializing in Entomology. Currently pursuing a doctoral degree in Biodiversity, Genetics, and Evolution at the University of Lisbon. With over 10 years of experience in Agricultural Entomology at the Colombian Corporation of Agricultural Research – AGROSAVIA. She has published 8 scientific articles, participated in various scientific events with oral presentations and posters, and has been involved in numerous outreach and capacity-building activities for technology transfer. Her experience has primarily focused on tropical fruit crops such as cashew, avocado, mango, citrus, and passion fruit, as well as transient crops such as grasses, cotton, sorghum, maize, Canavalia, and warm-climate vegetables. Additionally, she has experience in entomology in livestock and smaller species. Her work in entomology has primarily been in integrated pest management, addressing topics such as population dynamics, variety preference, secondary metabolism, economic damage assessment, action thresholds, parasitoid conservation, biodiversity estimation, and characterization of insect trophic function. She also has experience in controlling ectoparasitic insects with essential oils and implementing good beekeeping practices (Apis mellifera). Her doctoral thesis focuses on characterizing the main factors influencing the entomofauna of cashew and mango agroecosystems as hosts of cashew pests, aiming to contribute to the development of integrated management strategies to enhance sustainable production of Anacardiaceae in Guinea-Bissau (West Africa).
