PhD in Mechanisms of Disease and Regenerative Medicine, conferred by the University of Algarve (2019) and concluded with "High Distinction and Honor". In my PhD project I worked under the supervision of Dr. Pedro Castelo-Branco (UAlg), Dr. Uri Tabori (Hospital for Sick Children, Toronto, Canada), and Dr. Luis Vicioso (Faculty of Medicine, University of Malaga, Spain), and it was focused on the study of TERT promoter methylation status in breast cancer, namely, its impact on TERT transcriptional regulation and its clinical implications, as a disease biomarker and therapeutic target. During my PhD journey, I had the opportunity to learn more through the experience of successful scientists and to improve my knowledge and technical skills in the biomedical research field, which was crucial to continue my academic studies through a path of excellence. As a result of my scientific career, I have published 16 journal articles, resulting in more than 500 citations, with an H-index of 8 (according to Scopus). My work was also presented in national and international meetings, counting with 11 oral communications and 21 poster presentations. Additionally, I received a total of 6 distinctions awards and/or honors, participated in the organization of several scientific conferences elapsed at UAlg, in different national and international research proposals and in fundraising ativities to support BC care, in collaboration with Algarve Oncology Association (Portugal) and Portuguese Cancer League (LPCC). Since 2016, I have been invited to integrate the teaching workforce of diverse degree/post-graduation courses, and since 2020, I hold a position as Auxiliar Researcher and Scientific Project Manager at the Algarve Biomedical Center/ Algarve Biomedical Center Research Institute (ABC-RI), integratin the Epigenetics and Human Disease Group (Castelo-Branco's Lab, ABC-RI/UAlg) and I'm the coordinator of the Center for Scientific Research Support (ABC-NAIC). Since 2022, I hold a position as Invited Auxiliar Professor at the Faculty of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, University of Algarve, where I teach units like Epigenetics and Genetics Toxicology. During my professional and academic activities I have proven to have initiative, dynamism and the ability to work within team, namely, in an international setting. I consider myself a self-motivated person, capable of working both in an organized and flexible way and with a strong commitment to high ethical standards. I believe that my CV demonstrates my scientific and pedagogic skills and my interest and dedication to biomedical research.
