Diogo Miguel Bravo Martins is 3rd year undergraduate student in Biochemistry at NOVA School of Science and Technology | FCT NOVA, where he performed three internships: at the Associated Laboratory for Green Chemistry (LAQV) in the CHARM group in “Synthesis of derivatives of natural products,"  at the Institute of Chemical and Biology Technology of António Xavier (ITQB) in the Bio-oriented Supramolecular Chemistry (BSupraChem) in “Synthesis of aminoacids derived quinoline and pyridine,” and in the Intracellular Microbial Infection Biology (IMIB). Then he's going back to the same laboratory as before (CHARM), acquiring knowledge on Covalent Organic Frameworks (COFs) with Dr. Sunny Freitas. Before that, he acquired knowledge on fundamental microbiology and microalgae species on the extracurricular internship on the project “REDWine: Increasing microalgae biomass feedstock by valorizing wine gaseous and liquid residues” when was a 1st year undergraduate student in Biotechnology. He acquired experience in professional field at OMNOVA Solutions, S.A./Synthomer in chemical engineering of polymers. Now he's on a fellowship on “Investigation of the mechanisms underlying the interaction of innate immunity with the division and intracellular persistence of Staphylococcus aureus” at ITQB in IMIB with Dr. Pedro Matos Pereira as supervisor.
