Rui Miguel Almeida Vieira de Sousa

Degree in Civil Engineering in 2004 at the "Instituto Superior de Engenharia do Porto", Master in Civil Engineering Structures in 2009 at the University of Porto - Faculty of Engineering (FEUP) and PhD Student of the Doctoral Program in Civil Engineering at FEUP since 2019. Researcher at the Institute of R&D in Structures and Construction (R&D Centre of FEUP) and Consultant in Civil Engineering at "Instituto Construção", recently updated to "Instituto para a Construção Sustentável" (Interface institute of FEUP). Publication of several scientific papers in specialized journals, conference proceedings and chapters of books. Collaboration in R&D projects with the construction industry focused in the development of multifunctional systems/products for the envelope and partitions of buildings (thermal, mechanical, but also including acoustic, fire behaviour and sustainability concerns). The main research interests are in construction technology, mainly from the thermal, mechanical/structural and productivity point of view, such as masonry and wood constructions and facade systems.

2001 - Atual	Participation in several case studies regarding pathology in buildings and product development for the construction industry, mainly masonry products, renderings and glazed curtain wall facades systems. These studies were performed through inspections, numerical simulations and laboratory tests, which followed the production of more than 50 technical-scientific reports and more than 30 laboratory test reports.
