I am currently Director of the Centre for Ethics, Politics, and Society at the University of Minho, where I am FCT Senior
Researcher under the Institutional CEEC Program, and invited faculty member of the Philosophy Department, primarily teaching
courses in Political Philosophy. I have PhD in Philosophy of Law from the University of Padua and a Laurea in Philosophy from
Sapienza University of Rome. From 2022 to 2024, I was Principal Investigator of the FCT-funded project "The Public Interest:
A Politico-Philosophical Investigation" (Grant n. EXPL/FER-ETC/1226/2021). My research interests focus on constitutional rights,
the justification of dissent, and the epistemic aspects of rights and justice. I have contributed articles to various academic
journals, including Social Epistemology, Philosophy and Social Criticism, Philosophia, and Philosophical Topics, as well as
authored chapters in edited volumes for Routledge and Continuum. In collaboration with Manohar Kumar, I am autor of "Speaking
Truth to Power - A Theory of Whistleblowing," published by Springer International in 2018, which provides a comprehensive
analysis of the civic and political dimensions of whistleblowing. Currently, I am working on a book monograph on the public
interest and an article focusing on the epistemic aspects of constitutional rights (forthcoming in Law and Philosophy). Since
October 2020, I have served as the editor-in-chief of Ethics, Politics & Society, a peer-reviewed open-access journal edited
by CEPS and published by UMinho Editora. I am also a member of the Editorial Board of APhEx/Portale italiano di filosofia
analitica/ (ISSN 2036-9972) and the Advisory Board of Zero Degree, a newly established online Political Theory journal. In
addition to my role at CEPS, my professional service at UMinho includes supervising PhD projects and serving on several boards
and defense Committees. Before assuming my current position, I worked as a post-doctoral fellow and adjunct professor at Luiss
University of Rome - Department of Political Science. During that time, I taught graduate and undergraduate courses (political
philosophy, philosophy of social sciences, and bioethics), served as the Program Director of the Luiss Summer School in Political
Philosophy (2006-2007) and coordinated the PhD Program in Political Theory (2006 -2010). During my PhD, I was an EAP Graduate
Student at the University of California-Berkeley and a visiting student at Sorbonne University, Paris IV. I was Visiting Scholar
at Columbia University in 2010-2012. In 2014-2015 I held a Resident Fellowship at Institute for Advanced Study of Aix-Marseille
University and a Hoover Chair Honorary Fellowship at the Université Catholique de Louvain (2015). From 2015 to 2016, I was
Research Fellow at the National Research Council of Italy - (IRPPS - CNR) as part of project on European citizenship rights
co-funded by the European Commission's DG Justice. In 2016-2017, I promoted and participated in the Eu-funded project "A Change
of Direction” on whistleblowing in the fight against corruption in Europe, before transitioning to my current position at
the University of Minho. In September 2018, I obtained the Italian National Qualification as an Associate Professor in Political
Philosophy.
