V. Corregidor received her PhD in Physics in 2003 from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. She has a Master Degree in Solar Energy (2006) from Universidad Politécnica de Madrid and a Master Degree in Radiation Protection and Safety (2018) by Universidade de Lisboa-Instituto Superior Técnico (IST). In 2009 she was hired as R&D Manager by the private company WS Energia, the leader in low-concentration photovoltaic devices. Under her leadership, she successfully secured significant funding through the QREN candidature (n.005399), totalling EUR 663,409. Additionally, she provided guidance to numerous students as an advisor. During the PhD she participated in a European project funded by the where she assumed the role of Spaniard responsible for characterizing 3 CdTe crystals grown in microgravity conditions during the STS-95 mission. From 2003 to 2005, VC joined a European Research Training Network as a postdoctoral researcher at the former Instituto Tecnologico e Nuclear (ITN) in Portugal, to characterize photoelectric cells using Ion Beam Analytical (IBA) techniques. From 2005 to 2008, VC obtained a postdoctoral position at Solar Energy Institute-Polytechnic University of Madrid, focusing on the manufacture of thermophotovoltaic solar cells and lecturing on Basic Electronics. In August 2009, under the Ciência contract (5 years), VC became responsible for the external proton microbeam set-up. Her groundbreaking work in this area led to significant advancements in the characterization of cultural heritage objects. In that period, VC was co-supervisor for one Ph.D. student and an MSc student (finished June 2014) being the first MSc thesis in the IST applying IBA techniques to study cultural heritage artefacts. During December 2014-2018, VC was hired as an Invited researcher by the IPFN-IST lecturing also at the Physics Department of IST. The work was focused on data analysis of erosion/deposition and retention properties in the ITER Like Wall in JET, the only operating fusion device licensed for handling tritium and therefore capable of conducting experiments with deuterium-tritium plasmas. During 2019, at C2TN, VC was involved in researching advanced materials for solar cells (perovskites and CIGS), and studying CH objects thanks to the outputs of previous experience. Since April 2021 VC has had a permanent contract as Auxiliary Researcher at C2TN-IST being an opportunity to return to the nuclear microprobe and its application to materials science. Dr. Corregidor has co-authored numerous publications, including a book, a book chapter, over 100 articles in peer-reviewed journals and proceedings, and co-edited three books of proceedings. VC gave a total of 28 oral presentations (two invited) and over 60 poster presentations at international conferences. Dr. Corregidor's leadership extends to conference organization, where she has served as co-chair for one conference and contributed to scientific and local committees for six others. Besides these recorded data, VC has participated in research colloquia, seminars at international Universities, and schools, television programs, and journal articles for a broad audience. VC has joined 18 research projects from competitive funding (8 European). VC has supervised 1 PhD and 4 MSc (2 in progress), served as an examiner for 3 Ph.D. and 5 M.Sc degree boards, and acts as a referee in more than 25 journals and 2 foreign funding agencies. Since July 2023, V.C. has assumed the role of Responsible for the Radiological Protection and Safety of the Laboratory of Accelerators and Radiation Technologies (LATR). Since Abril 2023, she is the Objective Manager (Materials and Radiation) of the Thematic strand "Advanced Materials" at the Center for Nuclear Sciences and Technologies (C2TN).
