Pedro Miguel Guimarães Marques da Cunha was born in 1974. He obtained his medical degree in 1998 (Oporto University) and Phd in Clinical Medicine in 2015 (School of Medicine, Minho University). He is currently a researcher at the Life and Health Research Institute and an Invited Professor at the Medical School, both from Minho University, Portugal. He coordinated the Clinical Academic Centre of Hospital Senhora da Oliveira, Guimarães (2018-2023), where more than 150 research projects were ongoing. He is involved in several research projects (national and international), acting as research group leader in three ongoing studies. He has published 59 papers in peerreviewed journals, as well as book chapters; he was the Proponent and Member of the Portuguese Management Committee of a COST action. He is an Associate Editor of two international journals and has been invited to peer-review for several national/international journals. He is currently the Vice President of the Executive Committee of the Artery Society, and was the President of the Working Group "Hypertension and Brain" of the European Society of Hypertension (2018-2022). He was the founder and Coordinator of the Iberian Network on Arterial Structure, Central Hemodynamics and Neurocognition, involving 18 academic and clinical centres (2017-2020). He was appointed as a member of the COVID19 Management Committee at his Hospital in a coordinated effort to adjust clinical and research activity during the pandemic crisis. His project "Phenotypes of SARS-COV-2 infection: integrated analysis of a longitudinal cohort to create a predicitve model of clinical prognosis" has been funded by the Research4COVID19 program of the FCT.
