Francesca Dal Cin (Conegliano, Italy, 1990), in April 2024, was elected as a Young Ambassador of the International Forum on Urbanism (IFoU). Since August 2023 she has been Assistant Professor at Alasala College of Architecture and Design (Dammam, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia). Graduated in Architectural Science with Urban Planning specialisation from the Architecture University of Venice, IUAV, in 2017. In 2022 she finished her PhD in Urban Planning at the Faculty of Architecture, University of Lisbon (Portugal), with the thesis “Streets by the sea. type, limit and elements”, supported since 2018 by a research fellowship from the University of Lisbon. Since 2017, she has been a member of the CIAUD research centre, - Faculty of Architecture, University of Lisbon (Portugal), - with which she develops several research projects related to the urban form of coastal areas vulnerable to rising mean sea level. She is a full member of IUVAS, Institute for Urban Variations and Architectural Systems and a founding member of the Association of Italian Researchers in Portugal, Hipácia; moreover since 2022 she has been part of the editorial board of IN_BO “ricerche e progetti per il territorio, la città e l'architettura”. In 2024, she joined, in the role of Advisory Board, City Space Architecture, a non-profit organisation based in Bologna, Italy, which is a partner of UN-Habitat, the United Nations Human Settlements and collaborates with the Global Programme for Public Space. In 2022 and 2023, she was part of the GeRTIL2 research team (CIAUD), and worked on the development of five spatial plans for Timor-Leste, as Urban Planner and Project Manager.
